The pea campaign has finished, produced in Navarra and consumed worldwide

The pea campaign has just finished in Congelados de Navarra. From the month of May until late June we’ve been harvesting this product. The harvest has been limited in quantity, but we can guarantee a good quality product to our customers.
Peas from Congelados de Navarra are appreciated all over the world. Although the main markets to which these frozen vegetables are sold are Europe and the Arab countries, we also have a strong presence in America.

To ensure a longer supply of raw material over time, our farmers start harvesting in the warmer areas - where crops mature earlier – they start the harvest in Aragon, then we go to Navarra and we finish in La Rioja Alta.

As a rule, growing areas are always near to our factories, in the Ebro valley, which allows us to closely monitor the crops and ensure the freshness of the product with a rapid supply to the factory, there are only a few hours from harvest to packaging.

Congelados de Navarra has strict requirements for the raw products that arrive to the factory to ensure that all the peas that go through processing are healthy, smooth, round, not wrinkled, have a uniform green color, are clean of mud or stones, and free from matter foreign to the plant. Its texture must be tender and uniform in all grains.

In 2016 Congelados de Navarra commercialized 35.000 tons of frozen peas.
