Processing green beans, one of our star products

The green bean, one of the most consumed and cherished vegetables worldwide, is our third product as far as production volume is concerned.

Processing green beans starts in the fields, the varieties that offer optimum texture, taste and aroma having first been selected for sowing. At the end of June, we began harvesting the green bean that was sown in April. This year its harvest has been early, due to the high temperatures in May and June, which has acted as a catalyst for the maturation period. In the end, the volume has turned out to be normal and the quality good. During the harvest specialist machinery enables the pods to be separated from the plants efficiently and without damaging them. Coordination between the harvester and the processing plant facilitates the bean being processed in just a few hours after harvesting, which enables us to offer very fresh produce that preserves it aroma and taste. Once the produce is in the facility, rigorous food quality and safety checks can be carried out to guarantee that healthy, quick-frozen beans, with all the properties of fresh produce reach the shops and are ready for cooking.

At Congelados Navarra we seek customer satisfaction, that’s why we have a wide range of sizes and formats which match the diverse needs and outlets. Retail and Food Service cover around 85 % of our production and the food industry about 15 %. Despite our main market being in Europe, mainly Spain, France and Portugal, it is worth pointing out that we also have a major presence in Arab countries and America.
